What should I bring?
Just yourself. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as there will be times when you may be standing for long periods. You will be able to buy the complete range of spices used on the course and a spice box so bring some pocket money!
Do I need to take notes?
By all means, if you find it helpful but Spice Monkey will supply students with recipes for all dishes made after the course. With the knowledge you’ve gained, you should be able to go home and recreate the same perfect meal on your own.
Will I be cooking or watching?
The best way to learn is by doing. Because we cook in small groups you’ll be preparing all aspects of the dishes. There’ll be plenty of involvement either on your own or in pairs.
Can I choose what I learn?
Courses are structured around the prep and cooking of a complete meal. Please contact us if there are specific dishes you would like to learn.
Can Spice Monkey come to my house?
Yes, Spice Monkey would be delighted to teach you in your own home. Please click here for more information
How do I book & pay?
Look at the course options on the website and choose the one you think suits you best. You can book and pay directly via the website.
Can I buy gift vouchers?
We sell gift vouchers and they make the perfect present for any food-loving friend or relative. What’s more, they’re valid for 9 months and allow the student the flexibility to book a course on a date that suits them.
What if I can’t make it to a course I’ve booked?
Please see our Booking Terms and Conditions below. We are unable to offer a refund once you’ve booked on a course. If you can’t make your course date please give us as much notice as possible otherwise you may incur a charge to rebook. We will happily accept a named guest in your place.
What if I am ill before the course?
If you have had an infectious illness (vomiting and/or diarrhoea) within the 48 hours before the class starts you must call us before the course to let us know.
